Donna De Lory – 9:30pm

Click on the image for Hi-Res

Singer and songwriter Donna De Lory has always followed divergent musical roads. The petite, vivacious brunette with the mighty voice happily dallied in the mainstream as Madonna’s sassy tour sidekick for over a decade, but her own parallel journey as a solo artist follows a more eclectic muse. A devoted student of yoga and spiritual teachings, De Lory’s lushly conceived solo albums, like her 2009 ecstatic groove Sanctuary, are not only inspired by Western pop, but Indian devotional music, Sanskrit mantras, Northern African grooves, psychedelic arrangements, and dance beats. Donna blends her rich spiritual practice, sonic collages and diverse musical inspirations into a unique, world music-meets-kirtan style that’s been called “the perfect combination of earth Mama and fairy child, with a voice that oscillates between the passionate laments of Janis Joplin and the crystal clarity of Enya.”

“Playing music is my yoga,” says De Lory. “It’s my bliss. When I play, I get lost in the music, my mind stops, I am in the moment and I am free. This is a place I never want to leave.”

“Donna rocks us again with the divine elixir of her extraordinary voice remixed with new music alchemy for yoga, dance, and making love to life… Donna’s concerts bring the house down and raise the sky.”
—Shiva Rea

“I’ve always admired Donna’s voice; her songwriting is poignant and heartfelt.”
—Madonna

Sarah Jane NelsonSarah Jane Nelson’s relationship with the BLUES is rooted in her upbringing in Louisiana, the home of Delta Blues. “In Jr. High School I came across a boxed set of Robert Johnson music at the local record store. There was a blurb on the front where Eric Clapton, one of my favorites, endorsed the set saying Johnson was ‘the most important blues musician who has ever lived.’ I figured I should check it out. That boxed set was like nothing I had ever heard and I was drawn to the simple production that really let the remarkably honest storytelling shine through. Suddenly I realized where all the popular rock and country music I loved had originated.”
http://sarahjanenelson.com/music

Years later, living in New York City as a professional actress, Nelson was cast as Sylvie in a production of “El Paso Blue,” a play with an original blues score written by internationally renowned blues guitarist Michael “Hawkeye” Herman. When Sarah Jane and Hawkeye came together to rehearse the music, it was “love at first jam,” and they have been playing music together ever since! Sarah Jane Nelson’s new CD, “Wild Women Don’t Get The Blues,” featuring guitar work and arrangements by yours truly/Hawkeye, with harmonica by “Big Irv” Lubliner was just recently released… you can hear some sample tracks here:

We, the band Synrgy, try to take this definition into the realm of the music we create, and our relationship with our audience. Since we formed in spring of 2007, we have seen that we are better and stronger together, and we have the potential to heal with this music the people call SYNRGY. Our music is for all who are willing to hear with an open ear, an open heart, and an open mind. The conscious messages entwined in the songs aspire to inspire the minds of all who can percieve them. And the music demands movement from the audience, which makes our shows an experience few forget.
