Peace Village Festival 2011 kicks off on August 19th – 21st with three full days of concerts (think mini-Tanglewood or Britt Music Series, along with spa and mineral springs, a stone’s throw from Ashland) — replete with a wide variety of music including Reggae, World Fusion, Rock, Folk, Kirtan, Gypsy, Latin, Funk, and Americana, all with a common goal of uniting in the spirit of peace.
Friday afternoon is FREE until 5:30pm, so bring your friends and enjoy the day and the delicious gourmet vegetarian fare, then purchase your ticket for a full evening of music, capped off with our Friday headliners Donna De Lory and Jaya Lakshmi & Ananda. On Saturday, Alice DiMicele, The Human Revolution and Hawkeye Herman & Sarah Jane Nelson head the bill, with Synrgy and the Frankie Hernandez Band bringing things to a grand finalé on Sunday, just to mention a few of the numerous acts that will be performing at this event. Keeping our prices as reasonable as possible for this nonprofit, community event, day passes are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate, while a pass for all 3 days is available in advance for only $40.
Jackson WellSprings is the idyllic setting for Peace Village Festival 2011, from 12noon – 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 12noon – 10:30pm on Sunday, with its Camping and Spa use available for low additional fees. This year’s 5th annual event also features an Artisans’ Village with amazing crafts and imports, Kid Village, our Healing Sanctuary where you can experience the work of local masseuses and healers, and a Visionary Arts Exhibition. In addition there will be dynamic speakers and workshops, plus yoga and movement classes. The focus is on embracing inner and outer peace and the village model in all aspects of life and community, as well as on sustainability, health, community, re-localization, celebration, and on youth and elders. This village is being conceived and built with peace, sustainability, and respect as its guiding principles.
Come experience and participate in Peace Village Festival. Browse and shop at our Artisans’ Market. Listen to varied and wondrous music. Dance, play, and celebrate. This event will be kid friendly on all levels, and will honor our elders. The desire is for the involvement of the whole community, for people of goodwill from all walks of life, all ages, all lifestyles, all paths and persuasions to gather together in the spirit of peace.
Peace Village Festival is a 3-day event held at Jackson WellSprings mineral springs resort, just north of Ashland, Oregon, and one hour north of Mount Shasta. From inspiring music and performers to an entire village dedicated to peace, Jackson WellSprings will transform itself into a truly unique showcase of all that is encompassed within PEACE.
